I am happy to say that the new Mars probe, the Phoenix, has successfully landed on the Northern Planes of Mars. A unique feature of this probe is that it incorporates a digging element to its explorations (something only touched on in previous missions.) The Phoenix will attempt to explore several inches below the Martian service for further clues to its nature and past.Read about it here.
